Growing kids

Everytime we see someone that we haven't seen in a while they always comment on how tall our kids are getting. Logan just turned 14 yesterday, Lindsay is 12 1/2, and Landon is 9 1/2. As you can see they have out grown me (well Landon will soon). I'm only 5 foot and have always been the shortest and I guess I always will.

Thanksgiving Pictures

I love this picture of me and Lindsay. Our family
Every year we take pictures at Rusty's sister house for our Christmas cards. I think this is the picture that we are going to send out this year.

Girlfriends

Guess who has the best girlfriends ever? I DO!!!!! Every year they come to Savannah from South Carolina to take me out for my birthday. Once a year we go to Myrtle Beach to go shopping and have "girlfriend" time. I'm very grateful for the friends that I have and that I know that they are ALWAYS there for me. Thanks to ALL of my girlfriends!!!!!

Halloween

Every Halloween we have the people in our cul-de-sac over for hot dogs and then Rusty (and the dad's) take all of the kids out trick or treating. He gets the trailor from work and rides them all over the neighborhood. The women sit in the drive way and give out candy. It is so fun. This year Landon and our next door neighbor said that they were dressing up as girls. This lasted only about 10 minutes. After the pictures, when it was time to go Landon ran to his room and came out in his football uniform, so his friend went home and got his on. Lindsay had invited some friends from school over and they all dressed up as "Hannah Montana". They walked around the neighborhood and enjoyed being able to hang out (of course she had her phone and I called several times to check on them). When she came home she had a couple more friends with her. Logan wasn't even here, he had basketball and didn't get home until around 8:00, then he played basketball in the cul-de-sac with one of his friends. I'm glad that we started this tradition when we moved to the neighborhood. The kids all look forward to Rusty pulling them around the neighborhood, so they can get as much candy as they can.

Logan and Landon's P.E. gifts

Thusday I got a call from the elementary school that Landon and his other boys in P.E. were running for a ball, the other boy got there first and when he was coming up Landon was going down for it. The boys head hit Landon right in the eye. It immediatley starting swelling and turing colors. When I talked to Landon he said that he was alright. I walked over (the schools are right beside each other) to check on him and his eye looked really bad. He was not concerned at all. He is my tuff little boy. He is doing great. Then Friday, Logan was in P.E. and they were playing basketball, Logan went up to do a lay-up and when he came down this boy was under him and Logan fell on his ankle. The coach said that they heard a loud pop, and then Logan let out a big yell. Again they came and got me out of class. I took him straight to the ER. They took e-rays of both of his feet to compare what his feet should look like since he is still growing. The ER doctor said that he thinks that Logan might have a chip/fracture, but that the radiologist would read the x-ray on Monday morning and let us know what it says. We are praying that everything is alright and that we won't have to go the orthopedic doctor. The ER put a hard splint on him and gave him cruches. (Landon has really been enjoying those). Once I hear from the doctor, I'll let everyone know what it going on. Lindsay has P.E. tomorrow. Please say a prayer that nothing happens to her (haha). The ER doctor even recognized us from when Logan hurt his back in football.

Lindsay's All-State Audition

Last Saturday Lindsay had her first audition for the All- State Chorus. She did VERY WELL!!!! The scoring starts with 10 and goes up. Lindsay's score was a 13. Her chorus teacher told her that, that was a great score. Her next audition will be in January. She is also singing a solo in church this next Sunday. She has truly been blessed with a beautiful voice. I'm so proud of her, for developing and sharing this great gift that she has been blessed with.

Where has the time gone?

Where has the time gone?

Seems like just yesterday all 4 of my children where running around playing and having a great time with each other and their cousins. We were always at home and easy to find. Boy time sure has changed!!!! Russell is 22 (as of 9-28-07) working hard and being a great big brother. He lives in Saluda. Logan is 13 1/2 in the 8th grade and doing very well in school. He is playing football for the middle school and loving it. He has practice Monday - Thursday until 5:30. With games on Wednesday's and then rushing to get to church for youth activities. As soon as football is over basketball starts and then baseball unitl football starts back again in August. Lindsay is also having a great year at school, she is 12 yrs. old, and loves being in Young Women's (at church) and in the 7th grade. She is part of the Show Choir (singing and dancing), on the Dance Team (which I help with), the Student Counsel and also takes tap and jazz/hip hop every Tuesday night from 7:00 - 8:00. She is also at school on Tuesday's and Thursday's until 5:30. She right now is practing for her audition for All-State (singing against about 2,000 students). Her audition is on Oct. 13th. Landon even though he is younger he is almost as busy as the rest. He is 9 yrs. old, in the 4th grade, and also doing very well in school. He is also playing football, for the Rec. Dept. He is the quarterback. Rusty is one of his coaches. Just like Logan, as soon as football is over it's time for basketball and baseball. People asked me how do I do it all. I tell them that working at the middle school is my down time, after school is when all of my running starts. I would much rather have my children busy with things that are good for them, than to have to much time on their hands. By the time that we get home each night, it is well past supper time. We are trying to get supper, baths, homework in, so we can all sit down together and read 1 chapter a night in our scriptures. Sometimes it's hard and late, but we strive to get it done. Sometimes I miss those quite nights when they were little and all in bed by 8:00. Then I think about how fast time is going by, and I won't have all of this running to do forever, and think how sad and quite it will be when everyone is grown up. Sometimes I do get very tired, and have to take a break, but I wouldn't change a thing. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband who supports me in my church callings, and also helps out very much with as much of the running that he can do. With 4 beautiful children who strive to be the best that they can. I'm very grateful my children do so well in school, and that it seems to come pretty easy to them. Here are some new pictures of the kids. I hope that you enjoy them. They are my PRIDE and JOY!!!!!!!

Rusty's surgery

Tuesday, Rusty had neck surgery. He had three disk that were herniated. When they got in, 2 of them they fused together and the other 1 was ruptured so they had to replace it with an artificial disk. We spent one night in the hospital. He is doing well. I will be going back to work tomorrow. I'll take him to the Dr. on Wednesday for a check up. He can't drive until he can move his head from side to side.

1st day of school pictures

Back to school

Well, school is in full force here. We are in our second week of school and everything is going well. Logan is very busy playing football for the middle school varsity team. Lindsay is still doing show choir, and on top of dance at her regular studio she is also on the dance team at school. Landon is going to be playing football for the Rec. Dept. And they are all doing GREAT in school. Logan loves being the "top dog" at school, it's hard to believe that he will be at the high school next year. Lindsay of course loves being at school with all of her friends and activities. Landon is doing very well in the 4th grade and loves his teachers. I have also enjoyed being back at school, I really do enjoy working with the middle school kids. We have had a change at school this year. The children have to wear uniforms. At first they didn't like it, but now they really don't mind. Another thing that has changed since last school year is I've been eating 1200 calories a day. At first it was a little hard, but I've really gotten use to it. Sometimes 1200 calories is a lot. I've lost 20 lbs. Yeah!!!!!!!! I've also been getting up at 5:00 every morning and going to our new YMCA. I sure don't have time at night to go, so that is the only time that I could come up wtih. It's not to bad I'm a morning person anyway.

Here are some more family pictures. Jerry, Robin's husband had already left when we made these pictures. Jeremy, Drake, Trey and Russell were not able to go with us this year. That's what happens when the kids start growing up and have JOBS!!! We had a really good time. It was so nice to be able to just hang out. We are going to try to go the second week in July each year. I wish that we could see our family more often.

YW girls camp

Lindsay and Rusty just got back yesterday from camp. Rusty was there cooking. Lindsay had a great time at her first year. She came home so excited about all of the activities. Her testimony was really strengthen. She knows that she is a beautiful daughter of her Heavenly Father and that He loves her very much. As do her parents!!!!!! She took two camera's. I told her that I would get them developed tomorrow. So when I get them back I'll add the pictures. Today the Young Women at church came and got her. She is sooooooo excited about being in YW's. After church all of the YW were asked to speak next Sunday. (Welcome to YW's Lindsay).

Baseball Heroes

Yesterday the boys had a great day at the ball park. Logan had some awesome catches in left field, and hit in the winning run. His batting average was 4 for 4. He received the game ball. Landon also had a great day, he hit a out of the park homerun and won the game. He also received the game ball and got a trophy for coming in first place. We are very proud of them both.

Disney Trip

In April we were able to go to Disney World, THANKS to Lindsay and her Show Choir group. Here are some pictures of the fun we had.
