December 22, 2008

Logan turned 15 on the 22nd. It's hard to believe that we have another driver in the house. He's done very well driving. For his birthday he received a underarmor shirt, a bandana with gel in it, to help him stay cool through all of that baseball this summer and a bat.

For his birthday dinner he wanted to go to Spanky's. He said that he wanted cheesecake for his birthday this year.

The night that Logan was born it was snowing. I was so glad to see that little guy. I was in labor for 40 hours and pushed for over 2 hours. We came home from the hospital on Dec. 24, the nurses put him in a big red and white stocking! He was so cute. He was and is the best Christmas present that I've ever received. He brings such great joy to our family. I'm very grateful that the Lord sent him to us.

New family picture

Every year we take our Christmas picture at Jerry & Robin's house (Rusty's sister). This year when we got our pictures, boy did we see a big difference in Logan. All of the kids have grown, but we saw the biggest change in Logan. He has grown about 6 inches since last Thanksgiving and his face has really matured. It's amazing how fast they grow up. I guess I'll be the shortest in the group (like I thought that I wouldn't be).

I love to see my children getting along and helping each other. The other day I was at the computer and looked out the window and saw Logan teaching Lindsay how to hold and throw a football (and if you know Lindsay, it's amazing that she even wanted to learn how to throw a football the right way). Anyway, by the time I got my camera and out the door they were throwing. I wish I could have gotten a picture of Logan right beside Lindsay showing her where to put her fingers. I wander if he would let her teach him some dance moves.?. I doubt it!!

This summer the kids spent a lot of time hanging out and relaxing. Getting ready for school.

They just got their report cards and Lindsay and Landon had all A's and Logan had all A's and 1 B. I guess spending their time relaxing helped them get ready for all of that school work!! Good job kids!!

This has been Lindsay's year. She was chosen Miss Congeniality for her 8th grade class. This is the picture that they took to put in the year book.

Also, last weekend Lindsay had her 1st audition for the GA all-state chorus. A perfect score is a 10 and then they count up from there. Lindsay's score was a 12.5!!!! Way to go Lindsay!

Most of the time I'm very tired from running my children to ALL of their activites, BUT I would not have it any other way. I'm glad that they are busy and do so well in their things that they like. They are also great students and very well mannered. They are very active at church and have good friends! What more could I ask for! I love my children!!!

Homecoming!

Today we found out that Lindsay was chosen by her homeroom to be their representative for homecoming. The homecoming game is on Oct. 15 if any of you would like to come. She might be chosen as the new 2008 - 2009 QUEEN!!!

Effingham vs. South Effingham

This past Friday was our county BIG Rebels vs. Mustangs game! We are the Effingham Rebels. Almost everyone in the county comes to this game. Unfortunately we lost 18 to 13, but it was a really good game. Logan and Lindsay had some of their friends ride with us, and Landon had some friends meet us there. Logan and Lindsay walked around and hung out with their friends most of the time. Landon and his friends sat with us. We painted their heads blue and painted ECHS on their stomach. They really enjoyed cheering and holding their shirts up to show off their support. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures of them. These pictures are ones that the newspaper took. We all had a great time. To bad, Georgia beat us. But we were all together and that was GREAT!!!

This fall Landon's baseball team started live pitch, (they used to use the pitching machine). He plays pitcher and short stop (the same positions the Logan plays). He has done an excellent job pitching. Last night he had a no hitter!! Tonight is their last baseball game and then football starts.

Back to school

We have been back in school for 1 1/2 weeks. Landon is in the 5th grade. He is playing baseball and fixing to start football. Lindsay is in the 8th grade. She is in show choir, a captain on the dance team and also taking dance at Sassy Steps (tap, jazz and hip hop).
Logan is in the 9th grade. He decided not to play football this year. He is really enjoying being at the high school. He also started seminary this year at church. They are studing the New Testiment. I'm very glad that he gets to start his day off learning more about the Lord.
Back to uniforms!! (which the kids still don't like).
